Rare White Lion Cubs

 

希少なホワイトライオンの赤ちゃん4頭が、テレビ出演や撮影用などに動物を飼育する「湘南動物プロダクション」（千葉県成田市吉岡）で誕生した。愛くるしい表情で互いにじゃれあったり、人に体をすり寄せたりして、すくすく育っている。 プロダクションによると、4頭の赤ちゃんは9月18日に生まれた。雄3頭、雌1頭で、体重は3～4キロほど、体長は40～50センチに成長している。両親は、2019年2月に成田空港に到着し、生後3カ月から育ててきたホワイトライオンの雄のレオと、雌のジャスミンだ。 伊賀紀江社長（61）は「貴重な命が無事生まれてうれしい。あと1カ月くらいは、小さいお子さんでも安心して触れ合っていただける貴重な期間。県内の学校や商業施設などで、世界的に珍しいホワイトライオンを知ってもらう機会を提供したい」と話した。（上沢博之）

Four rare white lion cubs were born at Shonan Animal Production (Yoshioka, Narita City, Chiba Prefecture), which raises animals for TV appearances and filming. They are growing up quickly, playing with each other with adorable expressions and nuzzling their bodies against people.

According to the production, the four cubs were born on September 18th. There are three males and one female, each weighing about 3 to 4 kilograms and growing to a length of 40 to 50 centimeters. The parents are a male white lion, Leo, and a female, Jasmine, who arrived at Narita Airport in February 2019 and have been raising them since they were three months old.

President Kie Iga (61) said, ``I'm glad that a precious life was born safely. The next month or so is a precious period where even small children can interact with peace of mind.''You can see white lions, which are rare in the world, at schools and commercial facilities in the prefecture. I want to provide an opportunity for people to learn about it."
