As the shortage of bus drivers becomes more serious and has an impact on people's lives, a job fair was held where bus companies from all over the country gathered to recruit new employees.

This event was held in Tokyo by a company that operates a bus driver recruitment site, and over 100 bus companies from all over the country participated.

According to the Japan Bus Association, the shortage of drivers is expected to reach 10,000 this fiscal year and 36,000 by 2030, and routes are already being abolished and flights reduced one after another across the country.

At booths lined up at the venue, representatives from each company explained specific job details, welfare benefits, and systems for supporting license acquisition.

The bus driver talked about what made him happy about his job, such as, ``I'm happy when a customer says, ``Thank you.''

A representative from a company in Chiba Prefecture said, ``We are in a situation where we are facing a shortage of drivers and are forced to consider reducing the number of routes, so we would like to take advantage of this opportunity to hire more drivers.''
